DSIP (5mg) — Research Overview

DSIP, or Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide, is a research-grade neuropeptide consisting of 9 amino acids (Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu). It was first isolated in 1974 from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits in a sleep state by Monnier and colleagues, making it one of the earlier identified endogenous neuropeptides associated with sleep-wake cycle regulation research.

What the Research Shows

DSIP is studied in preclinical research models examining neuropeptide signaling, neuroendocrine regulation, and circadian rhythm biology. Research has examined DSIP’s interactions with the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, with some studies documenting effects on corticotropin releasing hormone and stress response signaling in animal models. DSIP has also been studied in the context of mitochondrial function and oxidative stress models. A small number of human studies have examined DSIP in sleep disorder contexts, though these are small, not replicated at scale, and do not form a basis for therapeutic use claims.
